Founded by patriarch Philip Belz (1904 – 2000) in the early 1940s on a four-acre tract in north Memphis, the company’s first project was construction of several of the city’s first large industrial buildings.

The properties include more than 25 shopping complexes, ranging from regional malls and community shopping centers to factory outlet malls, as well as hotels, office, industrial and residential developments.
In addition to Memphis, Tennessee, Belz develops, owns and/or manages properties and land tracts in Nashville and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee; Orlando, Florida; New York, New York; Boston, Massachusetts ; Greenville, South Carolina; Jonesboro, Arkansas; and Dallas, Texas.
